Oh I have 2 cents.

I will answer your question.

No you will not loose your pet..EVER. You can give it to the NPC dude but no one will take it from you.

Off topic.Wolf is KEWL and it gets BIG at lvl 20. Bears a bad for attack but wait. The Real reason for getting a Bear is they are cute and cuddly and you can name them Barney. well I digress.

There IS an advantage to a bear. They can take MASSIVE damage. IF the pet is taking damage and you are solo that means that, oh you are not taking that damage. Like a shield. It attacks and draws the aggro and then you kill them fast with frenzy from behind - critical hits. WOOT a real purpose for pets.

Finally.

Er, wrong?

All pets are created equal when it comes to hit points - bears look cool, but they're still the worst pets due to slower DPS. It's a small difference, though. No difference at all if you use them as a meat shield, as you said.

One thing the necro thread doesn't state is that if you take the quest "Endangered Species" it will require you to dump your pet for a stalker to complete it. Though it's an entirely skippable quest.

That may be but it's still a valid question for someone new. Are really, how are we going to tell people to use search and then make fun of them when they do?

So all of you, knock it off.
